Peer Recovery Coaching By Appointment

Our Peer Recovery Coaching program provides personalized support for individuals on their recovery journey. A Recovery Coach is someone with lived experience who understands the challenges of substance-use disorder, codependency, and trauma, and uses their knowledge to guide and support others as they pursue their own goals.

  • Direction to the right resources and assistance navigating systems
  • Accountability and ongoing support in your recovery journey

RIDES FOR RECOVERY

Serenity House Communities is proud to offer Rides for Recovery, a transportation service designed to help individuals access essential resources for their recovery journey. Funded by a grant from the Michigan Department of Human Services, this program ensures that participants in Flint and Lapeer counties have access to the services and support they need.


What You May Experience:

  • Reliable transportation to recovery-related events, detox centers, treatment facilities, hospitals, and more.
  • Access to Serenity House Communities for classes, coaching, or monthly sober socials.
  • Transportation for essential needs such as groceries, banking, and job interviews.
  • Assistance with recovery-related appointments, including counseling, clinics, court appearances, and meetings.

  • We understand that transportation can be a barrier to accessing vital recovery services, and we're here to help remove that obstacle.
  • This service is designed to support individuals on their recovery journey, ensuring they can attend important appointments and access basic necessities.

 At Serenity House Communities in Flint, we believe that recovery is a journey best shared with loved ones. Our Youth & Family Recovery Support Group provides a safe, compassionate space for young people and their families affected by Substance Use Disorder, Trauma, and Codependency to heal and grow together.

 Join our Men’s Meditation group at Serenity House Communities, where we offer a space for men to cultivate inner peace, manage stress, and improve emotional well-being. This weekly gathering is designed to provide a supportive environment for men to practice mindfulness, learn relaxation techniques, and connect with others on their personal journey of growth.

 What is SMART Recovery? 

 SMART Recovery is a science-based, behavioral substance-use disorder recovery program that empowers individuals to control their impulses, build resiliency, and lead a balanced life.


 How Does It Help?  

 The program focuses on four main principles: 

 

  • Building and maintaining motivation
  • Coping with urges
  • Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
  • Leading a balanced life


 Through techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), participants gain tools to handle cravings, avoid relapse, and maintain sobriety.


 Why SMART Recovery?

Our program provides comprehensive support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, ensuring that women receive the care and resources they need for a healthy and empowered experience.

  • Personalized support from a trained doula during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum
  • Assistance with developing birth plans and preparing for labor and delivery
  • Access to breastfeeding and childbirth education classes
  • Participation in self-care classes designed to support your emotional and physical well-being during and after pregnancy
  • Ongoing guidance and encouragement to help you navigate the challenges of motherhood
  • A compassionate, supportive environment tailored to meet the needs of low-income women
